Long Travel Suspension Kit

Two Off Road Project vehicles

Our latest project vehicle : 1992 Range Rover V8

We aim to build a very capable Off Road performance vehicle for Off Road,
Touring and camping trips.

As we are basically complete on this project there will only be minor modifications to follow bar engine changes and diff ratios changes.

* Our "Rangie" is now fully Certified for all modifications .

For our new project vehicle we have found a very clean 4 door Range Rover that we will transform into a well equiped 4wd touring vehicle.

We will endevour to update this page as the project transforms.

Please check back to see our latest modifications.

 * All modifications on this page are available for both RangeRover and Discovery.

Range Rover Classic

The project will begin with the removal of front and rear bumpers

plastic sills, and the standard wheels.

Front and rear sway bars will also be removed.

Removal of front and rear sway bars is a must to allow for better wheel & suspension articulation for off road work.

Range Rover V8

ARB front and rear diff locks have been fitted.

We have removed the Borg warner Viscouse transfer case and replased it with LT230Q transfer case as this has the centre diff lock engagement that works much better off road . It is also our prefferd option when using  front and rear ARB diff locks.

XL Flares
35" Simex tires

We have fitted our Xtra Large Flares  and a set of off-sett 16x8 steel rims with 35" tires . We also have a set of 33"s that will be used as our on road and beach tires.

We have also fitted taller springs giving aproximately 75mm lift and will now have to look at correcting the castor angles. We will also have to change the diff ratios.

2.5 inch Body lift

We have now fitted a 2.5 inch body lift to allow us to fit our 35 inch Simex Xtreme treker tires,(centipede)

We have also fitted our long travel suspention kit, this allows the wheels to articulate up to 30% more over standard .

Also +100mm longer "Pro-Comp"shocks.

As part of the fitting of our long travel suspension kit the rear diff self levelling unit is removed .This allows for more down travel of the suspension components.

Our kit will allow the suspension to move further up and down .A body lift is required before fitting or the tires will rub on the inner body work as the upward and downward travel is vastly increased.

Rear XL Flare

Steering guard and front bar have also been fitted including a new WARN 9000i winch.

Diff guards have been fitted to the front and rear diff heads for added protection from rocks and tree stumps etc.

Range Rover Snorkel

We have fitted the Fibreglass Snorkel and modified the air box to accept the ducting .

We have now fully rebuilt the radiator removed the viscouse cooling fan and fitted twin electric fans for maximum cooling and less power drag from the engine.

Rock sliders / sill protectors

We have replaced the plastic sill moulding with our heavy duty Rock Sliders.

They are a neat and tidy fit and offer exellent protection to the bottom of the doors and sills and can be used safely as a step for passengers.

We have also fitted one of our cargo barriers .They bolt in place through the wheel arches for maximum strenghth and protection from loose cargo in the rear & for passenger safety when off road.

We will contiue to change and modify our Rangie as time goes on including adding a rear wheel carrier and bumper, and as time allows we will also do our best to use what we believe is now a very capable off road vehicle for what we intended
